Last summer we did a lot of TV promo work in England, real big live shows. I got into this amazing habit of dropping my drumsticks every time the camera came near me. I obviously had a "really good time"..
We just performed on 'Good Morning America' and I played holding my sticks tighter then a travelling student on his gap year holding on to his childhood. THANK GOD they stayed in my hands....until next time!
It went well. After the commercial break, it came back to a show of us all. Mickey, our keyboard player was given a box of Girl scout cookies, quoted to be "better then crack" by Matt LaMotte, Cherrytree Records. She hugged them and held them close to her heart, not realising she was in the corner of the shot. The product placement was incredible. Up there with the scene in Wayne's World with his Reebok Tracksuit and a can of Pepsi.
All was good though, and GMA marks the end of our tour. That means one thing... TIME TO GO HOME!!! We don't get much time at home these days, and as much as we love touring, it's so good to sleep in your own beds and see loved ones.
But for now, back to my urine-reeking room to wipe this ridiculous TV fake tan concealer off myself. Struth, I look like Ricky Martin..
Ps. Just found out we were on the big screen in Time Square!! That's one to tell the Grand kids about.
