The LA show. These are always pretty important, but (touch wood) always SUPER good. We were playing Club Nokia which holds 2,500. It's funny to think that in August last year, we were playing at The Troubadour which holds maybe 200 tops?! What a year.
The venue was in downtown LA, which is an area we haven't really been to before. It was in a shopping centre too, similar to the Islington Academy in London actually. Mickey and I went outside to see some fans who had been waiting for 8 HOURS! Imagine sitting in the LA sun for 8 hours! They were all so sweet, and had made sunglasses with La Roux written on, and T-shirts and signs. Really really sweet.
Soundchecks were done, meetings were had about exciting future prospects, and then it was time for the show.
The crowd went bananas! I had the most fun playing those drums that I had had in SO long. That show will be one that I remember for a while. Elly however didn't have the best one god bless her. She has been suffering with a lot of throat problems and her voice was cracking up a lot. Even with her voice playing up, she sounded incredible, and performed as if it were her last show ever. Inspiring.
After the meet and greet, we went back to our hotel and zonked out. I woke up 5 hours later, earphones in fully clothed on my computer...man, I must have been tired.
