Well...the day that I've waited years for is finally here.
I'm getting a tattoo. Many people have asked "Why?" My answer is always the same. I've always been fascinated with tattoos. Ever since I put on my first temporary tattoo, I knew that I would have a real one someday. I had to make a decision on what I wanted to have inked in my skin. So many ideas went through my head. Of course I wanted something that had special meaning to me.
Many ideas came and went. I finally decided that my first tattoo would be a phoenix. But I had to really think about how I wanted it to look. After looking at a few pictures, I knew I did not want it to be done like a bird in the traditional sense. I thought more about the idea that the phoenix bursts into flames. From there I figured out that I wanted the bird to be drawn with flames rather than traditional lines. Then I had to figure out what colors I wanted. Blue is my favorite color, so I decided that I wanted it done in blue. Then I threw in purple because I always liked how those two colors looked together.
Once I discussed all of this with my artist, it was time to get inked. Many people told me what it would feel like. In all honesty, it is a feeling you'll never know until you feel it for yourself. But it feels like a blade going over your skin and it stings. The outline is where the blade going across your skin feeling comes in. The shading...is where it stings.
It took about 2 hours to do. And I was amazed when I saw the final result. I love my bird.
This girl is on fire!
