Columbus OH was home to the first U.S. date of the Redfoo and Cherrytree Presents: Sorry For Party Rocking Tour USA. I was looking forward to seeing this particular show because it was the first and I was very interested in seeing how the show would evolve from this one. It was nice to also see SkyBlu back in action.
I finally was able to see Matthew Koma. He came out and played songs from his Parachute EP and I found him to be very good live. Parachute was the highlight but I also enjoyed Neon Red which does not appear on the E.P. He was a man and his Fender Jag and I loved the fact he makes guitar oriented pop.
Eva Simons is beautiful...do I need to go on?... of course. Her highlight was "Take Over Control" which if you have never heard it, its an infectious hook that won't get out of your head.
Sidney Samson is a DJ who spun music for the crowd and I found him very entertaining. I respect great DJ's and in fact in another city I saw this tour in, he was at the club I was at and there was a frenzy to get him to the DJ booth and ultimately he spun the "Dirty Bass" track.
Far East Movement is a band I have seen many times. They did not disappoint... fender strats and keytars. They played songs off Free Wired and even did "Rocketeer" with Matthew Koma. The treat for me was to hear the cuts off Dirty Bass. To hear "Live My Life" and "If I Die Tomorrow" in a live setting was really great. Dirty Bass live is Duuurrrrrty... a must see.
LMFAO brought their party in full force equipped with dozens of beach balls, a half dozen blow up zebras, and tons of confetti. Their entire set is hit after hit even if they were never singles...it was just enjoyable to watch. Redfoo pulls out the keytar for "La La La" and played a nice mix of songs like "Sorry for Party Rocking", "Put That A** To Work" and a nice choreographed set for "Hot Dog". The Quest Crew had a section of the show where they displayed their skills. One guy in particular can endlessly spin on his head while he does figure skating motions with his feet. "Shots" really got the crowd going and "Champagne Shower" really got the first 3 rows wet :).
I didn't get to see the Cherrytree Cola Mini Cooper but I did see its trailer...pic below.
