"Sexy and I Know It" Claims #1 Spot on Billboard Hot 100 as "Party Rock Anthem" Jumps Back into the Top 10

LMFAO’S ‘SEXY AND I KNOW IT’ CLAIMS #1 SPOT ON BILLBOARD HOT 100 AS ‘PARTY ROCK ANTHEM’ JUMPS BACK INTO THE TOP 10 

Los Angeles, CA, December 30, 2011— 2011 was quite a year for LMFAO and they’re wrapping it up with another hit! The party rocking duo’s second single “Sexy And I Know It” climbs to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart after a seven week reign at #2.  The track maintains the #1 spot on the Digital Songs chart for the fourth week in a row while the video approaches 200 million views on VEVO. “Party Rock Anthem,” Billboard’s official “Song of the Summer” spending six weeks at #1, jumps back into the Top 10 climbing from 15 – 9.

The electro hip-hop duo’s sophomore album Sorry For Party Rocking (Party Rock/will.i.am/ Cherrytree/Interscope) is making a run for the Top 10 as it jumps from #24 to #16 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. The album has produced two #1 singles which the band has performed on numerous television shows including Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America and The American Music Awards.  LMFAO will perform on D*** Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest this Saturday, December 31st, 8pm EST on ABC. The duo recently appeared in a national Budweiser TV ad counting down the Twelve Gifts of the First Day of the NBA Season with co-stars Luke Wilson, Emmanuelle Chriqui (Sloan from Entourage), Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, NBA announcer Steve Kerr, the Chicago Bulls cheerleaders and Go, the Phoenix Suns Gorilla..

 

LMFAO’s ”Party Rock Anthem” has surpassed  10 million units in total sales worldwide!  “Party Rock Anthem” was the #2 most selling song of 2011 on iTunes in the U.S. behind Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” and it was the #1 selling song on iTunes in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.  The video has seen over 330 million views on VEVO, was featured by KIA in their award winning KIA Hamster advertising campaign and has been licensed by movie and television shows, including 20th Century Fox’s holiday hit “Chipwrecked,” Fox’s TV hit “Glee” and the top charter game “Just Dance 3.”

 

Earlier this month LMFAO had to postpone three dates of their sold out Cherrytree Pop Alternative Canadian Tour due to a severe back injury sustained by Sky Blu.  A doctor has diagnosed Sky with three herniated discs and prescribed a full month of rehabilitation with no travel or performances.
