On November 22nd, Cherrytree Records will release “Body Talk,” the final in a trilogy of 2010 albums from Robyn. Cherrytree is basically the only record label you need to know right now. Period.
The label was responsible for assaulting our faces with the enigma we now call Lady GaGa, they currently house the #1 pop single artists Far East Movement, and give others like La Roux, Semi Precious Weapons, Ellie Goulding, Feist, Sting and Keane a place to call home. However, the one that runs the tree house is Robyn, plain and simple. Listen to me people, I know a thing or two about ridiculously a** moving pop music — ask my 2nd grade teacher, it was like, my thing.
Today I got word that one of the new singles appearing on Robyn’s upcoming album was produced by the legendary Max Martin, which brings her all back to where her journey began. “Time Machine,” the song in question, finds her collaborating with Max Martin, who produced her debut album, “Robyn Is Here,” which included two songs that charted in the Top 10 hits of The Billboard Hot 100 – “Show Me Love” and “Do You Really Want Me (Show Respect).” Max is also the man behind recent hits from Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert and Kelly Clarkson, so this may be the final nudge Robyn needs to solidify her US Presence.
Oh, and one more thing, don’t expect the steam train of funk to stop any time soon. Robyn told us that, “I’m going to keep mixing up my tours with studio time and stick to this new way of releasing music next year.” Yes kids, more and more and more Robyn to come. So take a listen to some of PopWrap’s favorite audio cherries from Robyn’s “Body Talk” series, and prep for a few legendary new hits which are peeking over the horizon.
