Just finished a text conversation with the inimitable Lady Gaga. She's just returned from her European tour and she's getting ready to embark on a North American headline tour. "The Fame Ball Tour" will be nothing short of a multi-media extravaganza. Don't miss it.
Yesterday, was Tommy Sparks' birthday and he decided to spend it shooting the video for his pop banger "She's Got Me Dancing." I feel this record is gonna set it off. It's hard to capture this kind of excitement on a record and he's done it. It's like Tommy bottled up a crazy house party and poured it all over this track.
The BBC's Radio 1 is playing La Roux's "In for the Kill." Here in the US, we're going to be releasing an EP featuring "Quicksand" with a new secret surprise remix and the Scream version of "In for the Kill." This is coming in April around which time La Roux will be arriving Stateside to play shows. Can't wait. Just saw her perform in London at Yo-yo's and it was packed like a Tokyo subway at rush hour.
Robyn's on the mend. She had to postpone the first two shows of her German tour due to illness, but Frankfurt is on for tonight and we're happy she's feeling better.
Flipsyde are in Germany too opening for Sarah Connor who's audience has been very welcoming to the Oakland 4-piece. The group's MC, Piper, tells me that their performance of "Happy Birthday" (from their last album), featuring new member Chantelle Paige, has been bringing down the house and the reception to their new single "When It Was Good" has been just as warm. Go Flipsyde!
Tokio Hotel are putting the finishing touches on their new album. We get mail every single day about it here at Cherrytree. Thank you for all of your excitement. We can't wait put it out the minute it's ready.
On March 17th, we're releasing a special Cinema Bizarre single exclusively through Hot Topic. With a little luck, I'll be able to make a special announcement about the group and the USA in my next blog entry. Until then, thanks for your support.
