Nero Releases Album Re-Pack "Welcome Reality +" On October 22nd on Cherrytree/Interscope Records

September 11, 2012 — (Santa Monica, CA) — Nero, the electronic group comprised of British-born producers, remixers, DJs, and artists Dan Stephens, Joe Ray and vocalist Alana Watson, are one of the biggest names in dance music. The trio received RIAA certified Gold-Record status in the US this month for their smash single “Promises”, which also stormed straight to the top of the charts in the UK, and are now announcing a deluxe re-packaged release of their critically acclaimed hit album Welcome Reality + featuring all new original material and a North American DJ tour in October.

Cherrytree/Interscope are set to release a deluxe re-package of Nero’s debut album Welcome Reality + on October 22, the re-pack includes two brand new original Nero tracks, “Won’t You (Be There)” and “Etude” plus the huge Skrillex/Nero remix of “Promises”.

Coinciding with the album re-release, and on the back of 2012 headlining slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza, IDENTITY Festival and their live show at HARD Summer, Nero will tour North America in October and November, DJing nine shows, including stops in New York, Boston, Toronto and Washington DC. Additional November and December tour dates will be announced soon.

Welcome Reality, was one of the best reviewed dance records of the year, receiving raves from Spin, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly, and Billboard. “Promises” was also featured in a commercial for the HP dm4 Beats Edition, and the track’s official video has racked up over 16 million plays on YouTube:

Here’s what the press had to say about ‘Welcome Reality’:

"Nero's Joe Ray and Dan Stephens ache to bestow post-dubstep with its can-you-believe-this-s***? flash of stadium-size euphoria, enhancing (or defiling, depending on your perspective) the genre's bass-heavy payload with trancey synths and wailing vocals,” Spin

“The music flaunts vintage synthesizers and echoes of dance-music past: the raw swoops of early-1990s rave, the arpeggios of synth-pop, the string-section jabs of disco, even some 1980s rock-anthem guitar…“Welcome Reality” pulls dubstep toward the arena-pop spotlight without leaving its shadows behind.” The New York Times

“Blistering beats and serious electro-pop sparkle” Entertainment Weekly

“Welcome Reality” will inevitably soundtrack thousands of blowouts. ...Nero understand how to make things burn." Los Angeles Times

"Glorious, splinter-thin moments when a sound is both free to do whatever it wants and still functioning as a new power source…" , The New Yorker

Promises is so solid.  I think its placement in the HP commercial was a huge jolt to it.
