According to an article posted yesterday (1/22/12) on Loudwire.com, the Canuck indie pop artist tweeted fans about what they can expect from the multi-award winning singer-songwriter’s stab at covering a song penned by a heavy metal band.
Feist, who recently released her 4th studio album Metals, tweeted that the song is in progress, and that the results may surpise some fans, posting, “If people are expecting a cute twee cover of a metal song they have a big surprise comin. #Placebolivesagain.”
“#Placebolivesagan” refers to a punk band in which Feist aka Leslie Feist used to be a bandmember.
The Amherst, NS born/Calgary, AB raised musician and the Atlanta, Georgia base sludge metal band announced late last year that they would join forces for the annual independent retail extravaganza known as Record Store Day, with each act agreeing to cover one of the other’s songs.
