Far East Movement featuring Kayla Kai - Valparaiso University - Valparaiso, IN. 04/28/11.

I have seen and documented Far East Movement shows for a year now.  This particular show however was the very first headlining show I had witnessed.   For the most part they would have intro music to open the show lasting maybe 1 minute and the guys would come out and start the show.  This show started out with DJ Virman spinning tunes for a good 10 minutes to get the crowd ready.  Might I add that the one song that made everyone go crazy in the house was "Shots" by LMFAO.

Being that this was a headlining show, I anticipated more songs from the album Freewired to be performed and there was no disappointment.  When I saw their abbreviated shows, their set consisted of "Girls on the Dance Floor", "Like a G6", "Go Ape", and "Rocketeer".  Not only did they perform those songs, but they also infused the following songs: "If I Were You (OMG)", "So What?", "2Gether",  and "Fetish" off their "Animal" album.

In the past they have had special guests perform, namely Dev, Tamar Kaprelian, and Vincent Frank (FrankMusik).  At this particular show Kayla Kai was featured as the female lead on "Like a G6", "White Flag", "Go Ape", and "Don't Look Now".  Mid show DJ Virman again took the spotlight with another few minutes of spinning including a take on the 8-bit Super Mario Bros. music.  It was also great to see Proh on the keyboards and Kev Nish on the Fender Strat during "White Flag".

All and all the show was very entertaining and it was good to see 8 of the 10 songs off "Freewired" being performed.  (9 songs if you count "Go Ape" the bonus track".)
