Jessie Ware, a rising soul singer from the U.K., announced signing with U.S. label Cherrytree Records on Wednesday. Her debut album, Devotion, was released earlier this year in her native country to rave reviews and now she's looking to translate that positive buzz to the states.
Cherrytree Records will first release an EP in the U.S. for Ware's “110%” song as part of the new deal, according to The L.A. Times. It will serve as a teaser release before the British singer's debut L.A. shows in December and January.
“It's absolutely a privilege to have Jessie join our roster. I recently got the opportunity to see her live in the U.K. and really pursued her. It's such a special, extraordinary record. There's something magical about her,” Cherrytree chief Martin Kierszenbaum told The L.A. Times about signing Ware.
