I've been paying lots of attention to our Twitter account at www.twitter.com/cherrytreerec. There's something very addictive about "tweeting" primarily because it's quick, easy and fun to post up-to-the-minute news, musings and general all-around ridiculousness. It's also fun to do some real time reporting on what's going on in our offices. For instance, we had a pizza party with Cinema Bizarre last week and we were posting photos on Twitter about 2 minutes after we'd taken them. The Cinema boys were good sports since our blackberry camera wasn't exactly taking the most flattering photos, but, hey, it captured the fun.
Also last week, Flipsyde embarked on their German tour. And, to commemorate the ramp up to their new album "State of Survival," we've begun unleashing special Cherrytree TV episodes featuring the group's antics. If you missed Piper's work-out, you can view it right here at www.cherrytreerecords.com. Stay tuned for episodes featuring the group's trip to Sacramento and Chantelle's tips for checking in luggage. Also, Flipsyde's new video for "When It Was Good" should be ready to show the world in about a week. The rough cut we saw Friday looked great already.
Lady Gaga kicks off her headline tour, The Fame Ball, this week in San Diego. Her Cherrytree label mates, Cinema Bizarre, will open each evening's performances which will also include Chester French and White Tie Affair.
Yuksek announced March US tours (click on his photo to the left for details) and we started manufacturing his "Tonight" 12" which I believe should be every vampire's theme song.
Feist recorded a duet with Wilco and has been working on a movie. She's been writing new songs for her next album as well.
Tokio Hotel is putting the finishing touches on their new album and not a moment too soon. Our e-mail in-box has been flooded with inquiries from Tokio fans. It's coming gang, it's coming! For real. More news, the minute we have it.
La Roux is finalizing her first US concert visit for April. We'll be releasing her "Quicksand" E.P. at the same time. Also, watch for her debut Cherrytree TV episode coming soon.
Don't forget to pick up Lady Gaga's "The Cherrytree Sessions" E.P. featuring "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" electric piano and human beat box version (human beat box courtesy of our own Space Cowboy). People Magazine dubbed it a "hot download" of the week.
Lastly, I'll take this opportunity to wish Space Cowboy happy birthday. I think the pink gorilla singing telegram we sent him (see the TV screen up top) may have freaked him out a little. I mean, more freaked out that he already is naturally.
Until the next blog, I'll be hanging out on Twitter.
