British superstar Ellie Goulding kicked off her U.S. summer tour in Atlanta, GA on Saturday that will take her to a dozen of cities across the country in the next few weeks. Feeling relaxed and dressed comfortably, Ellie and I sat down for a casual and candid chat in her dressing room just a few moments before she took the stage.
We talk extensively about her U.S. tour, playing her songs for American fans and the muscial direction for her forthcoming new music. While still in shock from the sad news about Amy Winehouse's passing, Goulding also shared her candid thoughts about the the singer. She makes some very poignant remarks about what she will remember about Winehouse that perfectly expresses how we all feel about the late singer.
Later that evening during her performace, Goulding dedicated her touching and pitch-perfect performance of "Your Song" to Amy Winehouse that was one the highlights of the night. Make sure to grab Ellie Goulding's "Lights" on iTunes or Rdio now, and go see her in a town near you. (A big thank you to Ellie and her team for their hospitality and making time to meet.)
