I have many talented Rec'ers as friends. Some are musicians, producers, remixers and some do graphics and drawings.
In my case I needed to have an album cover made. I love vinyl albums and the apparent lost art of colorful cover art. I am a huge fan of the Smashing Pumpkins album "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness". That cover has everything I love...stars..moons, and the color purple.
So being that sometimes I put on a vinyl and lay on my back and look at glow stars in my room...I wanted that theme. When I am creative, I tend to sit in that room and daydream song ideas under the glowing black light stars so the title had to denote that as well.
I do not draw, but I scratched down on paper a rough idea of what I wanted.
I thought about who I knew that could draw and I thought of Sarah Lynn. I approached her about it and sent her my ideas and she sent me back the following. As you can see I also started to refine the title and it changed over time to its final.
Next we discussed color. I definitely had purple in mind. She sent me the following:
I liked all the colors but I am partial to purple. The next pic I received I call ... "The Pixar". It appears she moved to a computer and this is the next update:
I felt a darker wall would make the room appear more dark and realistic. This is now the final.
I am hopeful I can press a vinyl version and see how the cover looks in glorious vinyl album cover size.
We are now talking about the back cover. I actually don't know what to do yet so here is the initial...initial...initial initial...idea.. a template of sorts. A place for track listing, production credits, songwriting credits etc.
