Robyn Interview with

In 2010 alone, Robyn has toured the world, made a guest appearance on Gossip Girl, been invited to perform at this year's Nobel Peace Prize Concert, and seen Body Talk Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 simultaneously rank at #1 and #2 on Sweden's album charts (Pt. 3 is being released this month). "That has never happened before in the history of the world," she says proudly of the latter accomplishment.

Robyn Interview with

Her musical persona slips with ease into both heartbreak (on the gut-wrenching "Dancing on My Own") and hip-hop-sized ego (she outbrags Snoop Dogg on boast track "You Should Know Better"). Her song titles ("Fembot," "The Girl and the Robot,"… Continue

Robyn 'Body Talk' 4 Star Review from Rolling Stone

Robyn Live Review from

The rest of the show bounced between those kind of poppy, don't-mess-with-me anthems ("Indestructible," "With Every Heartbeat") and the more grinding digi-romps ("The Girl and the Robot," "Don't [Expletive] Tell Me What to Do"). With the club's small stage and poor sightlines, many fans did not even notice that Robyn had two drummers working hard behind her instead of pre-recorded dance beats -- although she did employ plenty of pre-recorded backing vocals. She also had two giant pinwheels for… Continue

The Comeback Queen of the Millenium -

Singing songs from her fourth self-titled album (2008) and Body Talk Part 1, 2, and 3 (which all came out this year) she had more than enough songs to choose from. During “U Should Know Better,” a duet with Snoop Dogg, she slows down the tempo, singing a stage single version of the track, the band interluding the electronic sounds during the Snoop Dogg verse(unfortunately, he couldn’t make it). While singing “With Every Heartbeat,” the ballad that helped emerge her career from obscurity, the… Continue

The Independent Interview with Robyn

Three years on and Robyn has managed to stay ahead of the curve: where once she was subverting song structure, now she is subverting release structure with her Body Talk project, which has seen her serve up three albums in less than six months. Far from being a victory for quantity over quality, however, Body Talk Pt 1 and Body Talk Pt 2 have been greeted with near-universal acclaim, and the final installment, a quasi-best-of featuring five songs from the first… Continue

Robyn Stuns Terminal 5

The biggest moment would come during "Dancing on my Own," the lead single from the Body Talk series, with an entire crowd dancing and throwing their arms up in unison, it really is something to witness and admire. After 90 minutes, she closed with cover of Abba's "Dancing Queen" and the song that gained her international attention "Show Me Love," she left the stage exhausted but overjoyed and the crowd felt exactly the same. As she sings in her current single… Continue

Robyn Caps Off Breakthrough Year, Proves She's 'Indestructible'

What did you do in 2010? Robyn's 'Body Talk' Trilogy a Pop Landmark

“That’s why I called the series ‘Body Talk,’ ” she says. “It was about that four-on-the-floor, but it has to say something, too. I wanted to make music that was very physical and emotionally draining at the same time. In a song like ‘Dancing on My Own,’ it’s a vulnerable moment. And it’s a song that you could dance to at a club. That is the place I have always gone to be myself. That’s where my generation has gone to figure out things.”
