Swedish Synth Pop Singer Draws Sold Out Crowd -

Her genre is dance pop, a la Madonna or Katy Perry (with whom Robyn will share some tour dates later in 2011); but her persona exuded warmth and a sweet-natured generosity of spirit that showered down on the crowd like good-karma fairy dust. Audience members danced and pogo'ed, pointing their fingers in the air. One guy came up and asked, "Are you writing a story? Just…

Robyn Performs 'Hang wth Me Live'

How much does your show change based on the size of the place you're playing?

Even though we play bigger venues now and then, it's still not very often that we do it, so the show is mostly adapted for a club-size venue. We're starting to develop what the stage looks like a little bit more. It's going to keep developing throughout the whole year -- we have…

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Robyn

"I wanted to look into a new way of recording and releasing music that would allow me to tour and record at the same time," she said during a recent phone interview. "Later on it became a concept of how the albums were. It was just another kind of flow."

And the flow is excellent. On the third "Body Talk," Robyn pushes the time limit to an hour, but there isn't a moment of…

Robyn Live in NYC Review by MuuMuse

Robyn proved (once again) exactly why she’s truly one of the best live pop acts in the game right now. Solid vocals, gobs of stage presence, and a raw performance energy evocative of Like A Virgin-era Madonna.

There’s a reason I’ve made the effort to catch her at every opportunity possible: Robyn puts out incredible pop, but provides an even more incredible…

Robyn Takes The Party to New York City -

The aesthetic is antiseptic because Robyn's best songs are like musical heart surgery -- medicine to soothe wounded lovers. The audience screamed along loudest to her most aching anthems "Dancing on My Own," "Indestructible," "Hang With Me," and "With Every Heartbeat," a quartet of clubby disco tunes built on glimmering synths that describe the wrenching dissolution of relationships and tender beginnings of…

Robyn Turns Radio City Music Hall Into An Epic Dance Floor/Mosh Pit

Dancing was big on Robyn's agenda, too. Her aerobics-styled routines were aimlessly thrown into the mix as she ran back and forth across the stage, slipping once during "Call Your Girlfriend" (without missing a single note) and eventually even making it into the balconies to throw herself into an awaiting mosh pit during "Hang With Me." Unsurprisingly, the night's biggest triumphs were here dance anthems:…

Robyn in Detroit News

She also wowed audiences at last summer's Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, an indier-than-thou music fest that caters to the most persnickety of music fans. If Robyn was selling boatloads of records, she probably wouldn't have been booked at the fest, but she won over the crowd with music that was wholly uncharacteristic of the bands that populated the rest of the lineup. According to many reports, she stole the fest.

And there are signs she may be getting bigger.

Grammy nominee Robyn is Sweden's latest pop export

"If this is the peak of it all, then I'm really happy," says Grammy nominee Robyn, Sweden's latest pop export. "And if I would start selling a lot more records this year, that would be great, too -- as long as I don't have to compromise what I do to get there."

Swedish singer Robyn bops into Radio City

You created a new business model last year, releasing three albums and touring after each one.

I didn't know if it was gonna work. I was just excited about doing something in a different way, doing something more organic, more natural and logical in terms of how I work. It was more practical and it was also more fun. . . . I wanted to have shorter periods between releases and I wanted to put music out as I finished it.

Robyn will be playing  Radio City…
