I found myself crying my eyes out while listening to Antoinette & the Kings Men's new song, 'CQD'. It stands for 'Come Quickly Distress', and I think it's based on the Titanic based on the tags. (I forgot what she told me about it)
It is a very haunting piece of art that I found seriously mesmerizing. Maybe it was the fact it…
You might remember that, a little while back, we told you that the winner of our Hopes and Fears Missing Videos contest, Elmira Temirgaliyeva from Kazakhstan, had been commissioned to make a video for My Shadow. Well, this is it. And this is what Richard has to say about it:
This is the brand new video for My Shadow, made by Elmira from Kazakhstan, the winner of our Hopes and Fears Missing Videos contest earlier this year. Once… Continue

South London synth-pop sensation La Roux are blowing up radio stateside with stunning first single “Bulletproof,” currently at #22 on the US Top 40 airplay chart, the track is making waves nationwide and landed in the top 20 on the iTunes Digital Songs chart. Following up on the immense… Continue
I read this quite a while ago, when I was writing songs for the second album. It's a very heavy family epic that follows a guy called the Swede. He runs a successful business in New York City and has a lovely family, and it basically charts the disintegration of his family and his values. I'm sure there have been lots and lots of books written about that kind of thing, but this particular one stands out because it's so psychologically complex and you never know what is going to happen… Continue

British rock act Keane is set to return this spring with its fourth album, "Night Train." Due May 11 via Cherrytree/Interscope, the set contains only 8 songs, but features collaborations with rapper K'Naan, Japanese MC Tigarah and a rare lead vocal performance from Keane…
"Night Train features eight powerful new tracks and includes genre-busting collaborations with Somali rapper K'naan and Japanese rapped MC Tigarah (remember this?). For the first time, Tim Rice-Oxley also contributes vocals to the album. Songs for this new record were written and recorded during the…Continue

"We really really f****** really wanted to make a REAL NYC party video. Every band, pop star, guitar player, and girl group has made a quote

We really really f****** really wanted to make a REAL NYC party video. Every band, pop star, guitar player, and girl group has made a quote unquote Party Video. But we wanted ours to be real. So we asked DJ Jess if we could take over his "Trash" party downstairs at Webster Hall since we had played that party so many times before. And then we had our actually bff's and true fans fill the place. Lady Starlight, Darian Darling, Breedlove, Knehans, The Jocelyn, Mz Eddy, Stormy Leather and obviously… Continue
"Some of the songs continue in the trajectory of the last Keane album, so 'Your Love' (which has touches of 'Early Winter') is quite electrical and 'Stop For A Minute' (featuring a rap from K'Naan who manages to rhyme 'females' with 'e-mails' thus putting this song on a level with Pixie Lott's 'Cry Me Out' in that respect and that respect alone) sits well alongside something like 'Spiralling'."
We're extremely pleased to announce that Elmira Temirgaliyeva from Kazakhstan - the Keane fan who won our recent Hopes And Fears video contest - has been commissioned by Island Records to make a video for one of the tracks from Keane's new EP, Night Train.
Elmira will be making a video for live favourite My Shadow. We can't wait to see it (and show it to you folks).
Night Train will be released on CD and download on May 10 - and you can pre-order a special…
I read this book when we were recording Perfect Symmetry in Berlin and I found it to be very, very funny and inspiring. Alex James is the bass player from Blur and I really liked the juxtaposition of his very throwaway gung-ho approach to being in Blur and living it up, against his more serious insight into the working process of a band. I actually found it very inspiring. He has some quite interesting ideas - one philosophy that he keeps…
