Look At What The Light Did Now documents the journey of Feist’s Grammy nominated album “The Reminder.” The poetic film, directed by Anthony Seck, pulls back the curtain to reveal intimate partnerships with the people Feist calls her ‘amplifiers’: The photographer who helped her hide within the frame, shadow puppeteers in hockey arenas, an artist who built a thread-radiating mural, the video director who conducted fireworks, the pianist who… Continue

So you had the songs written, and then it was time to hit the studio. How were the songs recorded? Were they cut quickly?
Pretty quickly, yeah. The original idea was to do it live, or as live as we could. We had a core band of six players: Tom Hobden from Noah and the Whale was there for a lot of it, John Roderick from The Long Winters was there for a Continue

Semi Precious Weapons Report on Robyn's London show
We, Semi Precious Weapons, are currently touring Europe opening for our hero, bff, Queen Of Pop and love, Lady GaGa. When the Paris Monster Ball shows got postponed due to the strikes, we ended up with an unexpected long weekend in London. On our flight into London we over heard Robyn was performing on Friday night. So we asked our… Continue

How did this happen? How has it come to pass that the faces of Ninja and Yo-Landi will appear in the same building – designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and known as one of the twentieth century’s most important architectural landmarks – as the faces and images conceived by Picasso, Matisse, and Kandinsky? Strangely enough (although on reflection it makes total sense), Die Antwoord’s music video “Zef Side” has been chosen as one of the winners of the global video art competition “You Tube Play,”… Continue

“You can run or you can hide, but sooner or later / It’s gonna cut like a knife, sooner or later,” Kills sang with her fist raised high; looking delightfully crazed with her hair all mussed up. She and her crew tussled onstage, pulling hair, gritting teeth and pointing guns (well, finger guns) in most deliciously brutal of ways. Gorgeous girls, killer heels and deadly intent: What more could a boy ever ask for?
And oh, yes–she whipped her… Continue

On November 22nd, Cherrytree Records will release “Body Talk,” the final in a trilogy of 2010 albums from Robyn. Cherrytree is basically the only record label you need to know right now. Period.
The label was responsible for assaulting our faces with the enigma we now call Lady GaGa, they currently house the #1 pop single artists Far East Movement, and give others like La Roux, Semi Precious Weapons, Ellie Goulding, Feist, Sting and Keane a place to call home. However, the… Continue

In one short year, the trio (which also includes DJ Hi-Tek) have become pop stars, with a major label deal at Interscope, tours with M.I.A. and controversial, crazily NSFW videos for tracks like "Evil Boy" (watch below). With their debut album $0$ out this week and the group in the middle of their own U.S. trek, SPIN.com caught up with Ninja to talk about his impressions of American culture, the trio's phallic-saturated video, and why he wants Die Antwoord (South African for "The Answer") to be… Continue
