So I've been working my butt off in the studio and I've been making some independent videos. I have some new photos and I feel very pleased with my material.

Where do you go from here???

It's very tricky to know in which direction to go once you have your material in your hands but no manager, agent or contact to turn to. But those contacts are essential, so it becomes imperative to network, research and find out where you belong as an artist.

I am now in the process… Continue

La Roux Go In For The Kill, Acoustic-Style

With her icy '80s synthpop sound, theatrically shrill vocals, and asymmetrically moussed flaming coif, 21-year-old androgyne Elly Jackson (aka one-half of Brit electro duo La Roux) may have been one of the most interesting new singers to come out of Britain last year, but she seemed an unlikely Stateside pop star alongside the current chart's assortment of blatantly sexy pop vamps (Beyonce, Katy, Ke$ha, et al). And with a sound as unapologetically retro and Anglo as an '80s new wave cover band… Continue

Well Street Journal: Pop Act That's One for the Books

Robyn, born Robin Miriam Carlsson, has been making music since she was a teenager. Now 31 years old, she has the closest thing to what Americans call a Song of the Summer with "Dancing on My Own," the first single from her new album "Body Talk Pt. 1," which was released in June. ("Body Talk Pt. 2" will be released in September; Part 3, perhaps, by the end of… Continue

Hard Candy Music Raves about 'Mirrors'

I think its high time that we posted about Natalia Kills. Her first official single Mirrors was just released this week on Itunes! It reminds me a lot of one of her labelmate Lady Gaga’s tracks (thanks to production by Akon and Cherry Cherry Boom Boom) However, because of the brilliance of this track and the fact that there is something very intriguing about this dark and twisty chick, I’m willing to overlook that haha.

I guarantee you a couple plays of this and you’ll be…

Rolling Stone Reviews Die Antwoords EP '5'

A group of self-proclaimed "zef" (i.e., white trash) South Africans who rap in English and Afrikaans over rave-style beats? Turns out, that's just what hip-hop needed. Die Antwoord's "Enter the Ninja" video went viral in February, introducing the world to Ninja, the group's glowering lead MC, and Yo-Landi Vi$$er, a pixieish sidekick with the world's weirdest mullet. On this EP, Ninja's staccato flow kills even when you only understand every fourth word. Boasting, dissing and smoking dope,…

Introduction to Die Antwoord from

"Ninja credits Hi-Tek - who "owns a PC computer" - with pioneering their unique 'Zef Rap-Rave' sound, while the MC himself is responsible for the cutting lyrics about life in the ghetto.

Words like "open your mind as quick as a fart" give you an idea of the gritty turmoil inside his tortured mind.

Ninja and Yo-Landi demonstrate an aptitude for dancing in their YouTube videos, with the MC unveiling a fondness for wiggling his package around during close-up…
