Could you tell us a little about the upcoming EP? Any collaborations we should know about?
The EP is a collection of a couple of the album tracks that we want to put out, hopefully in June. I don’t know if we have a final release date or anything like that, but that is the goal right now. But yeah, it’s the same concept as the Hollywood track, like I write the music and have a guest vocalist on it. It’s exciting, I’ve been working on…

The Get Deap! EP offers fans their first taste of what’s to come on the band’s upcoming full-length album, which is near completion and will be released later this year. The EP includes 4 tracks, including the band’s debut single single Gonna Make My Own Money, which NME hailed by saying “Deap Vally draws on the unrepentant strut of Ike and Tina and the heavyweight clatter of Led Zeppelin, as well as Karen O’s tree-felling caterwaul.”

“Lies” opens the four-track EP on an aggressive foot, a meticulously chugging guitar riff and thumped beat baring some serious teeth. It might just be the context, but the harmonized falsetto chorus at times smacks of a crawling, menacing take on “Fell In Love With A Girl”. Later, “Gonna Make My Own Money” gives…Continue

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jessie Ware as our You Oughta Know artist for the month of April. We’ve been full-on stans for her debut LP, Devotion, ever since it was released in the U.K. late last summer, and we can’t wait until U.S. audiences are able…Continue

This turbo-charged Los Angeles duo only needs four songs to prove that they can hang tough with two-person blues-rock-explosions like the Black Keys and the White Stripes. Singer-slash-guitarist Lindsey Troy has an immediately commanding presence thanks in large part to a voice that sounds like it could cut tin cans, and Julie Edwards' runaway-train drumming matches her propulsion; the only problem with "Get Deap," really, is that there aren't more songs to headbang and…Continue

Starting out as preternaturally mature producers at the ages of 15 and 18, this British duo of brothers are moving quickly through the moves of U.K. garage and full-stop house. Cathartic, emotional, and pop-savvy enough to appeal to the guitar freaks in the crowd just looking to dance under the desert sun, this is true crossover EDM.

Their Cherrytree/Interscope debut is due later this month, capping off a few years of building blog buzz, and opening for everyone from Iggy to Muse. Their recent single, the blues-roar gnasher "End of the World" rides a wave of pure riffage, sounding like a chainsaw grinding against concrete.

Ms. Ware has the voice for it, able to make notes tremble and swell and swoop. But she’s by no means a show-off — she has the judgment to make every technical flourish sound natural.
And that, in turn, brought out the single-minded obsession of her songwriting: the promise to cling to love at any cost. When she sang someone else’s material, it was…
