Whaddup Emmy!

''Frosties are Cornflakes for people who can't face reality'' Peep Show.

Hello, I'm Emmy which is in fact my real name - not a nick name, I'm currently studying Photography, Media, History and Film at College. Oh and I live in the UK. My favourite band is Noah and the Whale, shortly followed by The Vaccines, Friendly Fires and Bombay Bicycle Club. I have no idea what I'm doing with my life or what I'm going to do in the future, preferably Advertising but I'm stuck on how to make it, I do have some dreams though like: travel the world, open a milkshake shop and meet Noah and the Whale. So for now i'll study, blog and eat 'til my heart's desires.

Friendly Fires at Rock City, Nottingham 19/12/11

Finally, the big day came after being rescheduled a month after it's original date and I was very excited. Despite being about 30th in the que, the people in front actually disapeered and we were front row-we are not ones to push and shove, surprisingly for 16 year olds.

First came the support act Chad Valley a.k.a Hugo Manuel, he was absolutely brilliant! I had been listening to his electronic, sunset vibe for months before the gig- especially when I went on holiday to Greece…

Snow Patrol- 1st February 2012

Laura Marling- 13th March 2012

Extremely excited about all of these gigs, Friendly Fires will definitely be a party in itself, I mean Ed's dancing is just wow! Snow patrol are legends, such a classic band so that'll be good! Laura Marling, she's beautiful and I've never been a proper folky kind of…

Noah and the Whale remixes

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 4:06pm 0 Comments

I've never really been a big fan of remixes, they often kill songs and make them sound just bloody awful. But after searching Noah and the Whale on soundcloud out of curiosity, I came across two remixes which were from Noah and the Whale's own account which is cool!

The first is this, it's a great Bibio remix of Waiting For My Chance To Come. It's unlike anything I've ever heard and it makes the song sound totally different but It doesn't ruin it, I love the song and I…

*Insert epic blog post about how great Friendly Fires was here*

Apologies for not posting lately but I was going to wait and then have a fab post about how great Friendly Fires were at Rock City in Notts but unfortunately, Ed has got a throat infection so they had to cancel :( Luckily though they have been arranging more dates so that shouldn't be too far away and you'll have lots of awesome pictures of Ed dancing through the gig!

Charlie (natw) and Ed should totally have a dance off.

Anyway, keep viewing and you'll soon find…

Bruises

Posted on November 4, 2011 at 12:20pm 0 Comments

After discovering Chairlift, I know I'm late!, through Virgin Media's Rock playlist on the telly I decided to go onto spotify  and have a listen to some of their other songs. (I posted about their latest single, see my blog!) 'Bruises' definitely stands out the most for me, it sounds very different to 'Amanaemonesia' as it's slightly slower and more...relaxing I'd say. It's definitely softer and even the singers vocals sound different, you get to hear more from the male's vocals also…

Alas I Cannot Swim

The first song I heard from Laura Marling was ''My Manic and I'' I really did enjoy the song but the music at the time I was listening to was so different I just never really took any interest after that one encounter.

Recently I have re-discovered her and I am very, very impressed! She's a beautiful singer with a such a delicate voice and what I like most is how diverse her songs are. You have ''Blackberry Stone'' from I Speak Because I Can which has a very, I suppose,…
